Hotel UNION is located in Ostrcilovo namestí, under the old city walls National Cultural Heritage monument of Vysehrad close to the centre. The hotel building was constructed in 1906, it is built in the art nouveau style, just like a lot of other buildings in the protected zone of Nusle. It is an easy 10 minutes walk to the newly reconstructed Congress Centre, where also the Vysehrad monument is. The hotel included a coffee bar with restaurant a pub. The reconstruction concentrated mainly on the basic such as putting in a hot water system and enlarging the bathrooms on each floor. Even at that time the hotel Union was one of the foremost Prague hotels. The coffee bar was very popular with a select clientele of successful industrialists. In August 1992 the complete renovation of the hotel was finished.
